HOW TO PRESENT YOUR WORK
A short abstract (maximum 1000 words) should be submitted online in its final version, in English, no later than June 30, 2017.
Authors are requested to follow the instructions and the format downloadable at the bottom of this page and to choose the type of presentation (oral presentation or poster). Your work must be presented in the requested format otherwise it will not be taken into account.
At least one author of the work must register for the conference to present the paper in the event that the Scientific Committee selects it.
The works selected for presentation will be included in the Conference Proceedings.
A notification of the acceptance of your work will be communicated to you by mail. All work will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee.
The outcome will be announced via email to interested researchers.
Oral presentations are organized by parallel sessions, as indicated in the program. The time available for each presentation in parallel sessions, including questions and general discussion, is 20 minutes. The working language of the Conference is English.
Since the oral presentations are not organized centrally, authors are kindly asked to upload their presentations directly in the respective lecture room at least 30 minutes before the start of the session time block. A lecture room assistant will be available to help with this.
Computer (MS Windows or Mac environment) and beamer will be available in each room for presentations. Please use either PowerPoint (.ppt or .pptx) or Portable Document Format (.pdf) for presentations. Presenters are requested to bring their presentation on a USB disk.
It is strictly prohibited to take photos and/or copies from notebooks of any scientific material without the expressed permission by the authors.
Chairs are invited to come to the room 10 minutes prior to the start of the session. Their responsibilities are to introduce the session and the speakers, make sure that the time available is divided equally over the papers to be presented, and guide the discussion from the floor following the presentation.
We recommend bringing a copy of the poster in the format cm. 70×100 – portrait (vertical orientation). Posters should be set up upon your arrival. The Conference Secretariat will provide all the necessary tools to hang the poster on the panel independently. A number will be assigned to each poster. The full list of posters and corresponding numbers will be available to all participants. Please, hang the poster on the board with the corresponding number.
Poster authors are required to stand next to their posters during the Poster Session in order to explain it to the interested public. The working language of the Conference is English.
Posters can be removed by the authors after the poster session.
Some suggestions & tips
- Place the title of your paper prominently at the top of the poster to allow viewers to easily identify your paper
- Indicate the authors’ names and address information in order to allow interested viewers to contact you for more information.
- Prepare all diagrams or charts neatly and legibly beforehand, in a size sufficient to be read at a distance of 1.5-2.0 metres. The type is recommended to be 2.5 cm high.
- Use creativity by using different font sizes and styles, perhaps even colour and double-space all text. Use different colours or textures for each line or bars contained in your graph or chart.
- Organize the poster in a way that it is clear, orderly, and self explanatory. The poster must cover the same content as the abstract.
- Label different elements as 1, 2, 3, or A, B, C. This will make it easier for a viewer to follow your display.
- Include the background of your research followed by results and conclusions.
- A successful poster presentation depends on how well you convey the information to an interested audience.
