How to get to Lecce

By plane

The nearest airport to Lecce is the Airport od Salento – Brindisi (ca.40 km.), where regular domestic flights are available to/from Rome and Milan, from where international and national connections can be made. Regular flights are also available to/from Bologna, Pisa, Torino, Venezia.

You can also reach Lecce from the Bari International Airport “Karol Wojtyla”.

 

From/To Brindisi airport

At Brindisi airport a public shuttle service to Lecce is available several times a day, see the schedule. The shuttle stop in Lecce is located at Largo C. Bene (ex Foro Boario), a 15 min. walk to the city center (map).

 

From/To Bari International Airport “Karol Wojtyla” 

From Bari airport you can reach Bari train station with a shuttle train.  Timetable and prices are available at the following link http://treni.aeroportidipuglia.it/Default.aspx.

From Bari train station you can reach Lecce train station, which is in the city center.

By Train

Lecce is the train terminal of the rail line that runs along Italy’s east coast.
Train connections are available from/to: Milan (9 h.), Bologna (7 h.), Turin (10 h.), Rome (5 h.), Naples (5 h.), Venice (9 h.) through  Foggia (3 h.) and Bari (90 min.)

By Car

From the Adriatic side follow A14 (E55) motorway to Bari. Then take the SS 16 freeway Bari-Lecce. From the Tyrrhenian side follow A16 motorway, to Bari. Then take the SS 16 freeway Bari-Lecce.
