NEWS / First SISC Annual Conference, the program is online

Climate change and its implications on ecosystem services and society” is the title of the SISC First Annual Conference that will take place on September 23-24, 2013 at the Castle of Charles V, Lecce, Italy.

The Conference aims to involve scientists, researchers, policy makers, Italians, and foreigners working in close contact with our country, whose activities closely affect aspects of climate change and their relationships on environmental and socio- economic systems.

The conference will open with a lecture given a guest of honor: Angela Liberatore.

Presentations (oral e posters) are split in three parallel sessions:

  • Advances in climate science
  • Implications on ecosystem services
  • Climate policy and economic assessments.

During the SISC Annual Conference, authors under 40 will be awarded for a paper that, among all the works presented, will be deemed particularly worthy in the opinion of the Scientific Committee.

The scientific programme of the Conference is enriched by two special events: The media tell the climate – the media and the debate on climate change and Science Theatre – innovative and experimental ways and tools to tell science to children.
